In-Person Training Center (ALP) Expands
ALP Training Center January and February 2026: Enrollment increases to 70 students. A 6-month pilot mentoring program begins with two computer-skills students working on projects such as web design. Five students prepare to take TOEFL, an English proficiency test required by universities in 160+ countries around the world. In-person ALP Training Center Launched
ALP Training Center, Kabul, Afghanistan August - December 2025: A centrally located, in-person training facility called the Afghan Learning Program (ALP) is established in Kabul. New Initiatives: Conversation Partners and Free Dental Care
February 2025 - April 2025: Students are matched with English-speaking conversation partners from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. Afghan students meet remotely one-on-one with their Regis College peers at regular intervals during their fall and winter semesters. Free dental care is provided for RAWAN students and teachers through partner clinics in Kabul.

Visit to Partner Organization
January 2025: Board members travel to the headquarters of Embrace Relief, an organization dedicated to delivering research-based, sustainable solutions to communities enduring chronic social problems. The two organizations discuss their respective efforts to create educational opportunities for women in Afghanistan. RAWAN succeeds in helping Embrace relief secure a $30,000 grant.
